AS*I*BE Magazine Launch Party

at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Oct. 22

 

New local magazine and part-owner, Ian Beckles, planning public celebration at Floyd’s to benefit Academy Prep Foundation

 

TAMPA, Fla. – Seminole Hard Rock & Hotel, Tampa will hold a launch party for the new magazine AS*I*BE in Floyd’s nightclub with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Academy Prep Foundation. The public, 21 years and up, is invited. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Ian Beckles will host the event on Thursday, Oct 22 at 10 p.m. Admission for women at the door will be $5 from 10 p.m. until midnight; $10 until closing. Price for men is $15 all night.


A live, on-site 93.3 FLZ radio remote broadcast will occur from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. featuring Rat and Puff.  Drinks are free for the ladies free until midnight followed by $3 drink specials all night. Popular Floyd’s DJ Chris Craze will fill in from 10 p.m. until 11 p.m. before Rat and Puff take to the airways.

 Beckles, a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman and currently a radio host on 620 WDAE-AM, co-owns the AS*I*BE clothing line, Fly Jewelry, a retail line of "edgy" pieces for men and women, and AS*I*BE magazine, which will feature stories on sports, nutrition, fashion, trends and events in Tampa. Beckles will also host the sixth annual Blue and White Party on Nov. 21 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to raise money for the Children's Cancer Center.

The Academy Prep Centers educate middle school students who qualify for the federal lunch program. The model is based upon the success of the Nativity Mission Center founded in 1970 in New York City.
