WINE DINNERS RETURN TO COUNCIL OAK STEAKS & SEAFOOD WITH FOUR COLLABORATIONS AND DATES ANNOUNCED FOR 2019

Upcoming January 23rd event pairs a four-course dinnerwith Heitz Cellar wines

Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, a fine dining restaurant specializing in prime steaks, fresh seafood, and featuring a Wine Spectator-recognized wine list, has revealed the menu for the first four-course wine dinner of 2019, in collaboration with St. Helena, California winery Heitz Cellar. The event will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 23 and begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $150 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity.

Creative Culinary Director Frank Anderson and chef de cuisine Francisco Pomalaza have developed a menu that both highlights the restaurant’s focus on fine meats and seafood, and pairs beautifully with Heitz Cellar vintages.

The first course is Octopus Terrine, imbued with bright flavors of yuzu and pickled shiitake mushrooms. The terrine is paired with Heitz Cellar’s 2017 Sauvignon Blanc. For the salad course, guests will dive into a Grilled Stone Fruit preparation with stracciatella, mint, smoked honey, house made bread and fermented butter. The buttery 2016 Heitz Cellar Chardonnay is paired with this course.

As a palate cleanser, the Cranberry Sorbet livens and refreshes in preparation for a hearty third course, Beef Short Rib served as a pot pie with luxurious bone marrow and vibrant chimichurri. The meat course will be paired with a 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. To finish the event, a selection of Cheeses and Petit Fours will be served alongside the 2016 Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. As a $30 supplement to the spectacular dinner, guests can choose to sip on the Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

Council Oaks Steaks & Seafood is proud to announce additional dates and featured wineries for the 2019 wine dinner series, which runs through the spring. Future dates include Feb. 20 (Quintessa), March 13 (Orin Swift Cellars), and April 17 (Penfolds).

About Council Oak Steaks & Seafood

After its 2007 opening inside Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood quickly became Tampa’s number one destination for prime steaks, fresh seafood and an award-winning wine list served in a contemporary upscale atmosphere. It’s considered fine dining at its best. All steaks are dry aged 21-28 days and cut right in the restaurant’s very own on-site butcher shop. The fresh fish is line-caught in Florida and the Alaskan king crab legs are right from the Bering Sea. Custom salt water tanks also keep the live Maine lobsters fresh.

The namesake for Council Oak Steaks & Seafood comes from an actual tree located on the Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) reservation in Hollywood (Fla.) where ceremonial and official STOF business is conducted.
